There has been a considerable amount of interest in not only Phase I of the Northgate development, but also in Phase 2 and 3 of the plan.

Northgate Commerce Center is Officially Dedicated!

On June 27, friends, family and area leaders gathered to formally dedicate the site. Under sunny skies, Dick Scott, Northgate Commerce Center Partner, gave a brief history of Northgate while identifying several individuals who helped make the center possible.

Dick recognized and thanked members of the Blauser Family – the former land owners – who were able to attend that day. The site to this date had been used for farming; Dick noted,"these fields will now be used to grow beautiful buildings." He expressed his appreciation for the Blauser's help in making the land available to Northgate.

Mayor David Hill of Tipp City, Ohio Representative Robert Netzley and City Manager Dave Collinsworth also addressed those assembled. They each spoke of strengths that the new center would provide the community.

To date there are several companies extremely interested in locating at Northgate Commerce Center. Nine lots are currently utility-ready and ready for build-to-suit construction.

Farewell to a Friend and Leader

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Don Bensman. Don was chief operating officer of Bensar Developments Co. — a partner in the development of Northgate Commerce Center.

Don was also chief executive officer of Sidney Tool & Die, Inc., and a member of the board of directors of Sidco Industries; SMT Industries; Sidney Pattern Works; Sidney Warehousing, Inc.; Tower Steel, Inc. and H.B. Industries.

Don was involved in practically all aspects of community and church activities. This was best exemplified by his receipt of the Zenith Community Service Award in 1993. This award was given by the Sidney-Shelby County Chamber of Commerce for his outstanding and dedicated service to the community through involvement in numerous community, church and civic organizations and its positive impact on Shelby County.

The list of accomplishments and contributions to the community and local business environment is endless.

Don Bensman will be sorely missed.

Work to install the infrastructure for Phase I continues. The streets and all utilities — including water, gas, sanitary, electric and fiber optics — will be in place by the end of this month.

There has been much interest in Northgate because of its location. The sales of two industrial lots and one commercial lot are pending.
